Portmeirion Vist
On this day out me and my mum went to a little mini “Italy” in north wales near Porthmadog. The architecture and welsh heritage and mixture of Grecian, Italian and mythological elements around the little village was very interesting. The shapes of the architecture, fences, gardens have inspired many of my recent designs. The Prisoner was also filmed on the opposite island and the history of this was in the gift shop, alongside other gifts and items. The little village is dominated by the welsh language, and it’s lovely to see a combination of welsh and Italian references. I have designed a sketchbook relating to this visit and I am inspired to create jewellery based around the shapes and architecture I saw.
